Sleeping in a true historic home

On the ground floor there are four rooms all with separate bathrooms:

Gurlino
With a view of the valley, the chapel and the town, this nineteenth-century double bedroom has an imperial bed with gilded trim and has been decorated with delightful motifs. The furnishings, comprising of original furniture and paintings, date back to 1830.  Guests can enjoy the beautifully furnished living room and the music room equipped with its own piano. There is also direct access to the garden.

Contess Eponina
This double bedroom is frescoed with motifs of coeval draping curtains, creating an alcove-type feel within an exclusive space where a festival of lights and colours filters through its windows from the valley. The adjacent living room has frescoes by Andrea Galetti depicting vivid architectural scenes like the ones around the fireplace. The display cabinet with original, everyday objects, that have remained intact to this day, reminds the guests of the building’s vibrant history. It is a real haven of peace and tranquillity for a special stay.

Contess Giannina
Soberly furnished, this double bedroom is a quiet, cosy and comfortable space with direct access to the garden. Its bathroom has been carved out of the small passage that leads to the ancient alleyway of St Anthony.

This suite comes with a double bedroom, a large bathroom and its own living room. It has a private entrance inside the building. All furnishings are coeval with the Palazzo. There is the option to include an additional bed.

The upper floor

The terrace
A large double bedroom with exclusive access to the ample terrace which overlooks the main street. The entrance to the room is from the picture gallery.

Lady Elena
With a view of the main street, this imposing room comes with early 20th century furniture in keeping with the style of its previous owner: Lady Elena, a strong-willed woman who opened her house to the emerging movement of D 'Annunzio.  There is also a separate lounge available to our guests.

Firmina
This spacious room has ceilings with traces of ancient frescoes, decorated with a triumph of flowers amongst a majestic ceiling rose. It is exquisitely furnished with a unique style that will encourage a second visit.

The heart room
A quaint room built around its striking fireplace, furnished in keeping with the style of the time. It retains its original character with a modest but elegant bathroom. The space is tastefully decorated and guests can share the cosy, communal lounge.

The apostles suite
This capacious and exquisitely furnished suite has a bedroom with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, Lake Trasimeno and the Apennines. In particular, it overlooks the Apostoli’s farm, an impressive, unrestored property, formerly belonging to the Tombesi’s family, which has remained intact over the centuries. The room comes with a separate space that could alternatively be turned into an additional double bedroom. The dual-access bathroom will make it a perfect space for a family with children or two couples, as it allows privacy and tranquillity.

A separate building with independent entrance from the alleyway of St. Anthony is also included within Palazzo Tombesi. It has two floors with a basement, a kitchen, central heating, two bedrooms and direct access to the garden. An oasis of peace and tranquillity for a self-contained and exclusive vacation.

Our guests will have the benefit of a large kitchen and an antique fireplace, ideal for get-togethers with friends and family. The beautiful frescoed lounge with the imperial stove, the antique piano and large sofas will provide a moment of absolute relaxation amongst ancient objects and memories of this great, fifteenth century family. The thick walls will offer a natural, cool relief from the hot summers.
